EAXY

The Diva's
Challenge #292: "UMT - EAXY by Nadine Roller, CZT

EAXY is a very nifty tangle but I found it a bit tricky to stay even and lost my way......... thankfully Zentangle is perfect for lost paths and heading off in new directions so off I went happily veering into munchin.
My 2nd tile really went off plan, if you look closely it started OK with EAXY but then just went whoopsie, it was fun though, I kept on drawing X this way and that!!

  1. Your second tile is my favourite. You've made it look almost 'Nzeppel like.

  2. I agree with Karen, Eaxy looks a bit like 'N Zeppel but it has become a very special and wonderful tile. On the first one, I like the compostion, the beautiful drawn tangles and the use of just 2 colours, very nice too.

  3. The second one is even better in my opinion - it makes me think of cracked ice or glass. I'm interested to see where this tangle takes me.

  4. Love both of these very different tiles! I also found it very easy to get off track - and Munchin is a lovely way of moving into another tangle… I specially like the incorporated orbs which balance the lines and angles. The second tile is lovely, and I agree with Ria that the rounding gives it an N'Zeppel feel, though very different.

  5. You're right, it's a very forgiving pattern because if you go off plan it still looks good.

  6. Love them both! It' great how you've welcomed Munchin in the first tile, and the second one is very stylish. Less is more!

  7. I love the way Eaxy looks but the second tile is really cool too. It's sort of like NZeppel as Ria mentioned and that is one of my favorite tangles. I'll have to give this version a try.

  9. Love how you allowed this tangle to just wander off and become whatever it wanted to. Stressing over a tangle is the last thing we want to do :)

  10. Thank you so much for trying eaxy and sharing your story behind these beautiful tiles!! I am delighted how nice you combined eaxy with Munchin. And how you took the munchin strokes into the pattern eaxy. Great!! Also the different colours and the combination of the other patterns look very nice.... Your second tile is just stunning!!! Absolutely awesome and elegant with the rounded corners.....!!! Would like to have a stepout for this tangleation: it looks so gorgeous :-) !!!! Love from Cologne, Nadine

    1. Thank you Nadine for EAXY, it really is fun. My 2nd tile started just like your step out but I just turned the tile each time I made an X, I think it would turn out different every time. Leave it with me and I will try a step out! Thanks

  15. Great idea. I did a screen shot of your "offshoot" of Eaxy which I totally liked better than the one presented. Everyone is having a really hard time with this tangle!!!

  17. I like how you made your eaxy whoopsie look like it was planned with rounding and the unattached ends, it looks great. :D

  18. I like how you've combined Eaxy and Munchin. But I love the simple elegance and variations of your second tile!

  19. Two beautiful tiles. I love the way you "shaded" Eaxy in the first tile and the second whoopsie one, looks so good.

  21. Both tiles are quite lovely and every bit looks intentional. I wouldn't have known if you hadn't confessed, but I'm glad you shared the process with us!

  22. I love both of these, but I have to say that the second one really inspired me to keep trying since I kept losing my place too. Thank you for sharing!
