Non Dominatrix

OK! Laura's challenge #56 is all about loving the wobbliness of our non dominant hand. I was out of my comfort zone, in the dark and saw stars!

Rolling With Our Icosahedron

Today Heidi (our 8 year old grandaughter) and I enjoyed a very creative time rolling the icosahedron. The 20 sided dice is included as part of the Zentangle kit. Roll and match the number with numbered tangles like on the legend or create your own. It's a good way to choose which tangle to use. Heidi loves colour so she chose 20 beautiful bright pens and numbered them also and rolled for a colour choice. Her Zentangle Inspired Art started with a string consisting of many circles.

Six Down

Before Zentangle entered my life the crossword and sudoku in our daily newspaper was an important part of my morning. Now I don't have time for 1 across or 1 down and tangling inside squares is much more creative and productive. The inspration for this A4 size (8" x 11") ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) came from the 6 tiles that I posted last week, you can see them here.

Purple Haze

For challenge #54 The Diva suggests we play with purple.
Amethyst is my birth stone so facets fitted like a gem.
That was fun so I played some more with purple cyme and paisley shapes.
Moebius Syndrome awareness day is in January, purple is the official colour for this rare neurological disorder. The Diva's youngest son was born with Moebius Syndrome.

Just a square in a square

Strings can be quite swirly and fancy or just plain square. Yesterday I was playing around with string ideas and planning a class for a group at a retirement home when I became absorbed with a square string. All 6 tiles start with the same string but turned out so different.

I like to be beside the seaside

Size: A4 - 21cm x 29cm (8" x 11")
Click on to enlarge.

To many people Tasmania is at the bottom of the world and quite cold but we actually enjoy a wonderful temperate climate. This beach is at Orford on the east coast, where we parked for the night and woke to this spectacular day. I tangled most of the morning while Paul went fishing.....blissfully peaceful but no fish!

Beside the Seaside

The String.

Between Christmas and New Year we spent a few of days at the beach. A couple of years ago at the same beach I found a small starfish (still alive) on the sand. Just after taking a photo it was washed into the sea. One of my favourite things to do is collecting shells and walking on the beach, this time I didn't find a starfish so out came pen and paper. Tomorrow I will post the completed ZIA.
