Linking circles gives you a starting and finishing point, it helps with an even look. Start tangling at the cross over line and continue around. Tripoli triangles, purk and zander fit well into a circular string. I love the 'peeping through, over and under' aspect of Zentangle.

This is so fantastic! Thanks for the tips, I never would have thought to use Purk in a circle. You're amazing, as usual:)

ReplyDeleteWow Shelly, I can never tire of looking at your work - every one is so unique and ever so beautiful! This piece with the linking circles is really inspirational - now I'm going to look up tripoli and zander as I don't remember them ever looking so fantastic. I love how you always seem to have just the right amount of sepia or color too. Eye-candy for sure.
ReplyDeleteooo ooo ooo! more things to do with circles! lovely work btw.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!! If I could get to Australia, I'd probably camp out at your place and watch you tangle! How lucky your students are!!! Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteOh I love this one too, Shelly. But to see one of your drawings in person is awesome!!! Thank you so much, I received 'My Grandmother's Garden' yesterday and it is already framed and placed in the place of honour in my house. Please let me know if you ever come to Adelaide to teach, I'll be first in line.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm off to practice drawing circles....
