Duotangle Shattuck vs Tripoli

The Diva's
Weekly Challenge #360 "Duotangle Shattuck vs Tripoli"

Why does time fly so fast as we get older? Now that Paul has retired from his engineering business our life has slowed down but our days are full and they seem to zoom by so quickly. It's certainly lovely to pop out for coffee or lunch and not be in a rush. I have still been tangling but just not spending hours on my computer so I've been very lackadaisical about blogging....sorry, I hope you don't think that I have disappeared and forgotten you all, I have just been watching and admiring from a distance.

Pre-strung tan tile with Shattuck and Tripoli

Over the last 2 months I have had some wonderful tangling time especially on Maria Island at our Yoga and Zentangle Retreat.  I had a lovely surprise and treat meeting fellow CZTs Beverley Exell and Jennifer Dawes-Robinson. Looking through their Zentangle journals was super inspiring.
Check out some great photos taken by Karin here on her blog The Crooked Dog
Karin's tangling is amazing, you will enjoy seeing her art.

Our last mosaic of the weekend

Here is something else I've been tangling....it's quite large 42cm x 59cm. It's actually hanging in The Eskleigh Gallery in Perth (Tasmania) for the next month.

  1. Don't know where to start. First, nice to 'see' you. And second, what a lovely tile. I don't enjoy either of these patterns so it's good to see yours and be convinced it an be done.

  2. Good to 'see' you back here! Since I retired I am sometimes wondering how I ever found time to work :-) So much to do and such short days.
I like your zendala and I LOVE that large piece you created.

  6. Your Diva tile is so cool! It reminds me of sea shells on the beach! But I absolutely L💜VE your large gallery piece. How long does it take you to do a piece like this... from start to finish? Do you use a string? And do you kind of plan it out at the start?... or draw your gems then draw an individual tangle until you think it's big enough? I'm intrigued at your process!

    1. Hi Deanne, with the large piece I started with random circles for the gems, filled them in then tangled around the 1st pink gem on the left and just let it flow from there. It sat on my desk for a week while I tangled at odd times so I don't really know how long it took. Thank you for asking
