Ellish with Mooka Spiral

This week I have been delighted with the questions about how I created the Tangled Heart for The Diva's Challenge. Well, it just happened! With that in mind I decided to tangle a spiral shape on a renaissance Opus tile with the same process and show you how it grew!

Hope the pictures tell the story.

Started with a spiral string and ellish in the centre

Continue around the shape and finish ellish with a mooka tail.

Keep going, ellish is a very forgiving shape.

Occasionally fill in the empty spaces with an aura and fill with brown pen.

Tangle the ends, have fun!

Shade with pencil and highlight with white charcoal.

Tangled Heart

The Diva's
Weekly Challenge #324: Guest Post - Jessica Davies - Tangled Heart

My heart sure is in a tangle with a little mooka weaving it's way in and out of ellish.

Earlier this week I enjoyed the company of my special friend Karen, who you all know as The Creative Miss L.
In this photo you can see Karen's wonderful Opus tile she tangled with the fun wooden letters she gave me to tangle.

What a joy Zentangle is for bringing such lovely people to my home. Thank you Karen for travelling from Canberra to Tasmania, hope to see you again next year.

Gourdgeous

Patrick Swayze told us not to put Baby in the corner but what about putting gourdgeous in the corners?

Had a heap of fun tying my tangles in a knot, I suppose that's better than getting my knickers in a knot!

Home

Weekly Challenge #323: "Home"

It's wonderful to venture off on holidays and it's always lovely to come home.
Even though our garden is looking quite wintery, when I looked out the window this morning my bright red pots shone in the sunshine so they were the inspiration for the colour in my tile today.

I'm Happy with That!

I started this Opus tile with just 3 circles for zengems down the bottom left. No plans, no problems, no expectations, no rushing just wondering what the surprise would be when I finished.
After tangling around the 3 zengems it seemed to need balancing with 2 more. Around with a flourish, tangling with just the black pen and finished off with shading, a touch of gold and white highlights. Yes, I'm happy with that!
