Stripes

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #265: "Stripes"

Tangles down the line
Tangles cross the line
Tangles over the line
Tangles under the line
It's all fine!

Even with stripes there is room for triangles, circles and curves.

Easy string No pressure

I am really excited... I have a new window in my office-studio!! The sun shines in all day and I love the space.
It is such a joy to sit in the quiet, watching the magpies, hot cup of tea, pens, paper and no pressure!

String into Spring or Autumn

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #264: "String Theory: String into Spring"

Where has that string gone? I should have taken a photo of the string before I tangled, there really is a spring string hidden under the tangles. We are experiencing a beautiful autumn day here in Tasmania, the sun is warm and the leaves are turning red and gold.  Because printemps means spring in French I just had to add a few amongst the autumn harvest.

Globular Grid

My tile is probably not quite the idea that Laura had in mind but I enjoyed tangling the double lined grid style weaving, wrapping under and over like a ball of string.

Inspired by Zentangle Primer Vol:1

My copy of Rick and Maria's latest book 'Zentangle Primer Vol 1' arrived in the mail this week!

Opening the pages to see all the splendid delights I was soon primed and pumped to put pen to tile!
Zentangle language is expanding and we learn new terms in the book like Reticula and Fragments. There are exercises to follow with 'how-to' tips, string ideas, shading tips and enhancements. From Zentangle basics to more intricate tangles there is inspiration for all of us.

Primer Vol:1 is an elegant gift of Zentangle lessons.
Thank you Rick and Maria for helping to keep the Zentangle sparkle glowing brightly.

Hopefully our Aussie dollar will improve soon which will help with the cost of the book. I will be placing an order early in May so if anyone in Australia would like a copy, let me know and I will add your name to the list. At this stage the book is priced at $75.00 AUD plus $13.40 postage.

It's a great day to tangle!

Fassett

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #262: "UMT - Fassett by Lynn Mead"

For our fassett challenge I decided to try 3 different looks.
The 1st one is a renaissance tile with a couple of breakaways. The 2nd is sparkly on a black tile. The 3rd, I rounded the corners of the triangles and randomly squashed them together, the background is a layer of colour with a Copic marker called skin white and shading with a (peach) Prismacolor pencil.

Thank you Lynn for fabulous fasset!
