String into Spring or Autumn

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #264: "String Theory: String into Spring"

Where has that string gone? I should have taken a photo of the string before I tangled, there really is a spring string hidden under the tangles. We are experiencing a beautiful autumn day here in Tasmania, the sun is warm and the leaves are turning red and gold.  Because printemps means spring in French I just had to add a few amongst the autumn harvest.

  3. Yes, I especially love the free flow wheat sheaves contrasted with the more detailed printemps

  4. I love this - here we are beginning to come out of our winter and you are in the autumn. It shows how widespread we are and the wonderful sharing of culture. Beautiful tile.

  7. Love this, Shelly, and your garden looks fabulous. I hope you've had more rain than we've had down here south of Hobart. Could I ask you what tangle did you use for the end of the sheaves, please? I think the middle is Zander, but not sure about the leaf-looking one either.

    1. Yes Christine, the middle is Zander, the ends are just stalks as in verdigogh but sprouting out instead of along a branch. The leaves are a tangle called ynix.

  9. Perfect job of disguising your string. It's a very nice tile.

  10. Well, unlike your golden autumn, Spring here in the UK is predominantly grey so far. I like the harvest type theme of your tile, especially where the sepia printemps is the one colour that lifts it all up.
