The Diva's
Weekly Challenge #198: "K.I.S.S. (Keep it
simple, silly!)"
The first tile is actually one I did yesterday. It's funny, I had been thinking that I wanted to just sit quietly and tangle something simple!! (The spiral came automatically)
The second is my tile from the 1st Diva Challenge, 20 Dec 2010. It's laminated and sits on my desk as a drink coaster.
Those coaster tiles would make a great gift. (I need to figure out how to super-duper laminate them.) Beautiful tiles, BTW.
ReplyDeleteinteresting to see the progression you have made - love both of your spirals
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the "before and after" simple tiles. It seems to me that you were more simple back in the day, but your first challenge tile was probably a good deal more stressful than the lovely (simple-yet complex) one you produced for challenge #198!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to have both tiles side by side. You already had your beautiful defined style at the very start. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove your spirals, and these are simply beautiful !
ReplyDeleteSpirals are so evocative aren't they? Love the simplicity of the 2nd tile Shelly. I just adore the holes with tube going in. I don't know why I love drawing them too.
ReplyDeleteWould that my simple spirals were so stunning!! Great tiles, Michele. Axxx
ReplyDeleteI don't see them as simple. Sorry. Only simply marvelous. Both of them. Thanks for inspiring us.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call them simple :-) but your drawings are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing both tiles. It's really interesting to see the differences - and similarities.
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely!
It is not sooooo simple, but very lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting to see the first and the one from this year! Beautiful work! I really like the coaster idea too!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful tiles! I love your spirals :) I agree with the others that it really is not that simple - but definitely simply gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I couldn't submit my comment to link to my challenge as usual so here's the link: _http://goo.gl/Tktc0a
Great to compare both, Michelle! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteBoth are wonderful! Especially I like the second one!
ReplyDeleteI like both tiles but I don't really think the first one is simple ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe second one is wonderful and I like the idea of making a drink coaster of it!
Have always enjoyed your spirals. Like the simplicity of the laminated one but also like what is almost a tangle sampler in your recent one. They seem to flow so smoothly.
ReplyDeleteSimple is definitely in the eye of the creator! These are fab pieces and how wonderful that you still have the piece which you posted four years ago!
ReplyDeleteBeide Zia's sind sehr schön
ReplyDeleteBoth tiles are lovely. You are a spiral master.
ReplyDeleteBoth are great but I love the simplicity of the spiral. Not that I could master it myself. I do try now and again. hahaha
ReplyDeleteAs always, your work is breathtaking. I also wish I could master spirals the way that you have.
