Can you believe it? 
It's been too hot to tangle!!
Many people around the globe think that little Tasmania down at the bottom of the world is a cold place to live but this summer is turning out to be a scorcher with temperatures  well above 30 degree Celsius for quite a few days.
Early mornings have been the best time to tangle, here are a couple of pages from my journal with lesson 6 out of Zentangle Primer 1.

Happy New Year 2019

Calm..... according to the Collins Dictionary calm is not showing agitation or excitement. My plan for this year was to be calm at all times but it's good to be excited too. I like excitement so can we be calmly excited or excitingly calm? The dictionary also says calm is a peaceful state... I like that. So I'm going to try and be peaceful in an excited way...yay...woohooo...ahh...sigh!

Hope everyone can spring into 2019 with happiness, health and a carefree mind, be calm, throw in some excitement and enjoy the thrills!

The string on these tiles are just 2 curved lines but they pack a punch of pizzazz when placed as a mosaic.

Dewd as a border on a tan Zendala tile. For a bit of glamour I added touches of gold with a Gelly Roll pen.

I just enjoyed 2 great days with Karen. The Creative Miss L, it was our annual catch up, chatting, drinking tea and tangling together. We started in the centre of our Opus tiles with an emerald which is her birthstone. The border came out completely different than we expected but isn't that the beauty of Zentangle, go with the flow and be surprised when it's finished?

Let's start from the very beginning!!

Yes, I have decided to go back to the start and work through Primer Vol. 1. I'm looking forward to calmly and mindfully re-connecting to the basic principles of Zentangle.

I remember my Mum saying "Blue and green should never be seen unless there's another colour in between'.

So I popped in some orange! 

Actually I love blue and green together!

Update: I just looked up birthstones for August and to my surprise it's Peridot, therefore that little green gem sits happily in the centre.
