Moowa
The Diva's Weekly Challenge #296: "UMT - Moowa by Anya Ipsen, CZT"
3rd day of 3zs.
Everyone's 3z tiles are looking so wonderful and couldn't wait for mine to arrive so I cut up an Opus tile which gave me 12 3z tiles, don't know why I didn't think of that before. Shattuck is our tangle for today. You will find the step-out here
Moowa is a really fun tangle, had to be very careful that I didn't swing into mooka.

Reticula/Fragment part 2
The Diva's Weekly Challenge #295: "Reticula/Fragment part 2"
Tangling instead of drying the lunch dishes!
Just for effect I tried a little watercolour paint, the background is pencil, the ring didn't work out quite right but happy because Zentangle is abstract and I enjoyed tangling the towel. This fragment is Q3 in Primer Vol-1.

Playing with a ribbon
It's time to start thinking about Christmas cards so I have been playing with the idea of a ribbon and gold baubles. Not sure yet where this idea will end up.

Zendala with a fold
Maria Thomas has been posting this fabulous idea on Zentangle Mosaic, just fold about a third of your zendala tile so it's sits up. Of course it's not just an ordinary fold but has the special name of phiphold.

EAXY
The Diva's
Challenge #292: "UMT - EAXY by Nadine Roller, CZT
EAXY is a very nifty tangle but I found it a bit tricky to stay even and lost my way......... thankfully Zentangle is perfect for lost paths and heading off in new directions so off I went happily veering into munchin.
My 2nd tile really went off plan, if you look closely it started OK with EAXY but then just went whoopsie, it was fun though, I kept on drawing X this way and that!!

1 square 1 round
Playing with colour backgrounds.
Adding colour brings decisions and questions to our tangling. Sometimes we don't want to make to many choices just stay focused on tangles that come to our thoughts. But adding colour is so much fun, especially creating gems! Subtle splashes of colour is a beaut way to add interest too.
The 1st tile has a spill of coffee which I tangled around trying to miss the stain instead of covering it up. I'm interested to hear if you like to cover it or go around?
With the 2nd tile I just added stripes of watercolour with black ink at the bottom plus a touch of gold.

Spiral Zengems
The 4th and last in my 'Round Zengem Series'. This one started with the largest gem then I gradually worked my way in. I wasn't sure how it was going to work out but that's the beauty of 'unknown outcomes'.
Loving the Renaissance Opus tiles.

Zengems Number 3
Here is number 3 in my Round Zengems Series.
I started this Opus tile in a class by drawing the round circles 1st in a random manner, tangled around the largest green gem and it just grew from there. A few gems haven't been tangled around with an edging so they seem to be floating.

Zengems on Opus
Does this Opus tile look joyful?
Hope so, I'm loving the Renaissance Opus tiles with plenty of room to play with colourful zengems. When I first started drawing gems I wasn't quite sure what to do next.....like, how do I fill in the spaces in between? I decided to make this one a sampler with round gems and a selection of colour. Fun, fun, fun!!
I used Prismacolor pencils for the zengems.

Dreamcatcher
The Diva's
Weekly Challenge #287: "UMT - Dreamcatcher by Daniel Lamothe"
What great timing! I had being playing around with this Opus tile and wondering which tangle to do next when up pops The Diva's challenge with Daniel's delightful dreamcatcher.

Straight to It
The Diva's Weekly Challenge #286: "Straight to It"
Actually I don't get excited about straight lines but I like the tangle IX and thought it was fun the way a circle popped into it with shading.

Relax
The Diva's Weekly Challenge #285: "Relax,
bro."
The Diva asks us to tangle like no-one is watching, relax, no plans. I had actually just finished fife for our Facebook group Square One: Purely Zentangle, felt relaxed and with thoughts of just playing with more fife. The house was quiet so I could hear the magpies out in the garden and with spring sunshine beaming through my window fife grew and grew, blossomed and flourished.

Purky Purk
A couple of weeks ago I enjoyed 2 days in Hobart at the Annual Rotary Art Show demonstrating Zentangle. I chose purk to feature on each tile and just see where they ended up and to show the easiness of a nice loopy string.
Here are five of my favourite tiles from the weekend.

Tripoli
The Diva's Weekly Challenge #284: "Monotangle to
Tripoli"
Tripoli is one of my favourite tangles and I wanted to experiment with stripes but to get all the stripes to fit in and stay vertical in the triangle just doesn't work but I like the way parts float off and then merge back together.

Once my monotangle was finished I decided to add some betweed and turn it into a duotangle.

Art Yoga Retreat
Something to think about for Tanglers in Tasmania.
11th -13th November
Maria Island in springtime....that's a treat. Fresh air. Sunshine.
Suzie's nourishing food and the peaceful setting is the best way to relax and be inspired to create something special.
I am really looking forward to this weekend.
