Tripoli

The Diva's   Weekly Challenge #284: "Monotangle to Tripoli"

Tripoli is one of my favourite tangles and I wanted to experiment with stripes but to get all the stripes to fit in and stay vertical in the triangle just doesn't work but I like the way parts float off and then merge back together.

Once my monotangle was finished I decided to add some betweed and turn it into a duotangle.

  1. Great idea to add Betweed. But .... the monotangle is also beautiful on it's own.

  2. I like the simplicity and beauty on your first tile, but by adding Betweed the tile becomes even more gorgeous!

  3. I like how you filled your tripoli. They look like humbugs - those intense, minty boiled lollies.

  4. Beautiful! The touch of color is striking, and doing the strips is unique (to me) for Tripoli. Both the "monotangle", and "duo tangle" each work wonderfully and encourage me again to utilize the basics and keep it simple. There is much to enjoy in the spaces left, and not shading the Betweed kept the space in the duo tangle also. Thank you for sharing your tiles, and the thoughts you had in completing it as you did.

  5. Love how you did the stripes in Tripoli, also love the colors.
Betweed makes the tile very gracefully!

  6. Beautiful! Love the balance. But.... Could it by chance be a tri-tangle? Tripoli morphed with Striping and add a dash of Betweed? Whatever your recipe, your outcomes are always gorgeous!

  9. Pretty little flowers. But now that I've seen Anita's comment; yes, indeed they remind me of those stripped peppermint red-and-white candies. :D
