Simplicity

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #226 GUEST BLOGGER Katie Crommett, CZT

Isn't it special when our world is in sync and right thing happens at the right time. Although saying that, our family is going through a very sad time. I wasn't quite sure if I was ready to share this but I am sure my Zentangle family will understand. My Mum is hospital and seriously ill with pancreatitis, her body is wearing out and she is exhausted. I have been sitting by her bed for long hours, quietly chatting, reading and tangling. Many of my tangled tiles have been shared and given to nurses and patients. These tiles have bought smiles and conversations when times are awkward. They have been drawn with simplicity in mind, nothing to complicated or over done. I often ask Mum if she needs anything, she replies with "No thank you, just stay" That's easy, simplicity with love and a hug.

  6. My zen-prayers for your Mom, Shelly. Almost 3 years ago I was sitting by the side of my Dad in a hospital and tangling Ganesha at that stage was a great inner support to me. I can understand your situation. I Wish your mom a speedy recovery. Your tiles are beautiful, as ever.

  9. Wonderful tiles, and I am sure all the staff who receive one will be thrilled, your tiles are always truly artistic. I used to be a nurse and sometimes it was awkward because a patient tried to give us a present and we were not allowed to take them, but to be given something like a Zentangle Tile which is actually not of any monetary value would have been greatly appreciated. It is the thought and seeing you do them that would count more than anything.

  12. Shelly, oh, how I felt every bit of pain and sadness in your words. I am so sorry that you are having to experience this part of life with your mom. No matter how old or how ill a loved one, especially a parent, it's never easy to think of losing them. My heart has empathy for you. We just went through that same thing with my mother-in-law. She passed 2 months ago. Would've been 90 on the 6th of this month. Hang in there my friend. So many loving thoughts, prayers and love are being sent your way, for you, your mom and family, Hugs to you!!!!
Isn't it amazing in times like this, though, you still are finding a way to share some Zen!! Bless you!! :0) Annette

  17. Very moving, very 'Zen' words and tiles, Michele. You convey so effectively that in times of real emotion, the simplest of things can provide the most relief and support. I send you and your family - and particularly your mother, of course - all that can possibly be good in your difficult times. Axx
