Bales

Weekly Challenge #120: "Tangleation Nation; Bales"

With The Diva's challenge bales takes front seat. Today I went basic with a pre-strung zendala where bales fitted nicely in the string lines and a no fuss tile.

The Power of Zentangle

A couple of weeks ago, while I was out washing the car a wasp bit my right hand. The darn wasp had made it's self comfortable in my polishing cloth so when I picked up the cloth the wasp was not happy at all....wasps don't leave out 'please do not disturb' signs. The pain was quite nasty so that was the end of car cleaning and the comfort of tangling became some good medicine.
I also rubbed a lavender flower into the bite so that might have helped also but I soon realized that while I was focused on tangling the pain completely disappeared and when I stopped the pain returned. Now isn't that a good excuse for sitting by the fire on a Sunday afternoon with pens and paper instead of washing the car.

This ZIA is called...Bitten by a Wasp While Washing the Car

Out on the Plaza

Actually, I haven't been out on the plaza because it's been a bit wet and rainy this week. That's fine by me, I have had a lovely quiet time with my micron pens and this large piece of Stonehenge cotton paper. It sure is fascinating to see the different tiles that decorate any plaza floor and to sit with a coffee, people watch and absorb the scene. This week I created my own plaza by drawing around Zentangle tiles, linking them and adding embellishments.  It certainly isn't architecturally correct but that is the fun of being abstract, I hope you enjoy the view.

Kuke

Weekly Challenge #118: "UMT v. XVI - Kuke"

Cool as a cucumber...kuke by Katy Abbot is the selected tangle for The Diva's challenge this week.
Katy's inspiration actually was from a cucumber slice.  Kuke is fresh, delicate, smooth and yummy!!
It became a favourite right from the start so I will use it many times, I enjoy the way it fits into irregular spaces and can sit on it's own too. Thanks Katy and Laura.

Outward Motion

To me a spiral represents the feeling of slowly unfolding, finding the right balance to expand and grow in the right direction. There are places to stop, breathe, find connection and understanding then with an outward motion there is a release of energy to enjoy and appreciate.

Schway

Weekly Challenge #117: "New Official Tangle: Schway"

It took me a few attempts to get the feel of schway because of the straight lines. I love curvy lines that don't have to be exact but with schway you have to be a bit more even but you can also break out and stretch the arrows. It has a great look and is very clever and effective. Thanks Rick schway is a stunner!!

Blind Sighted

Weekly Challenge #116: "Blind Sighted"

The Diva prompted us to draw a string with eyes closed. Then tangle how we please. I always enjoy the element of surprise with this relaxed way to start.

Yesterday we had a weather phenomenon, it hailed so much it was like snow, we have never seen anything like this in our garden. Heidi and Samuel were staying for a sleep-over so we watched the storm approaching, then as soon as it passed the sun shone and this double rainbow arched over the house. We had fun testing our new winter boots!
