Protection

We are camping at Bridport beach with our grandchildren so I am feeling very protective of them while they jump in the waves and climb over the rocks.

Something old!

Our grandchildren like to talk about the 'olden days' and are full of questions about family history and like most boys and girls are fascinated with dinosaur bones.

Ixorus

Laura's weekly challenge #6 is about exploring our new tangle 'Ixorus'. There are some delightful discoveries such as the way it can easily flow into the next tangle, it will follow curves or straight lines. I like the way it swells and grows to fit any space or fits snugly into a corner.

Overt

Another 'word verification' word which I thought had a ring to it is ovion and I wondered if it suited this tile. So out with the dictionary but no ovion, then I spotted overt..open, not hidden, bingo!
Still intrigued with ovion the next step was to google it and there it is, if you are 'Battlestar Galactica' fans of course you would know that ovions are insectoid creatures that manage a mysterious gambler's paradise on the planet Carillon. Fascinating!

Louffska

You may be wondering what a louffska is! I am not sure if they lay about and snooze all day or if they curl up when you touch them. I do know that louffska was a beaut sounding 'blog verification word' so here is my louffska tile!

Challenge #5 Orbs

After reading Laura's blog today my first my thoughts were to tangle her a bouquet of orb shaped flowers. When it was finished I could see a fountain of bubbles for the boys! Thanks Laura, I will toss the bouquet and blow the bubbles your way!

Taking our time!

9cm x 9cm tile

Today Heidi (7), Samuel (5) and I had been quietly drawing when Samuel thought he had to finish in a hurry. I explained that he didn't need to rush so he said "Let's see how fast I am at taking my time!" There are so many things to do in a day when you are 5 years old!

Eyes wide shut

Lara's challenge #3.
As I closed my eyes my mind was saying 'try not to swirl this time and be big!' Well, I was a bit disappointed by this tight string which started at the tip of verdigogh but as I turned the tile around this sticky beak seemed to point it's way forward. Paul called him 'Fowl play'. We had a good laugh! Thanks Laura....that was a beaut challenge.

Callington Mill

Callington Mill is situated in Oatlands, Tasmania. We climbed the stairs to the top, admired the reconstruction and workings. Purchased a loaf of bread made from the ground flour and settled by the lake with a bottle wine for a relaxing New Year's Day!
